Sugar Cookies

One of the old school, simple classics...the good ol' Sugar Cookie.

COOKIES

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour

  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup (1 1/2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar + extra for rolling

  • 1 large egg, room temperature

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven 375 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

  2. In a bowl add flour, salt and baking powder. Mix well.

  3. In a separate bowl, cream together butter and sugar for 4 minutes. Add vanilla and egg and blend well.

  4. Add dry flour mix to wet ingredients and blend until fully incorporated.

  5. Pour extra sugar in a small bowl to coat the cookies. Scoop dough out and roll into 1-inch balls. Take each ball and roll into sugar then place on the baking sheet. Use the bottom of a cup and press down on each ball, about 1/2 inch thick.

  6. Bake cookies for 10 minutes until the edges are slightly brown.

  7. Remove cookies from the oven and allow them to cool for about 10 minutes. Enjoy!
