Red Velvet Brownies

BROWNIESDESSERT

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 cups all purpose flour

  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled

  • 1 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 large eggs, room temperature

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring

  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

  • Optional mix-ins, I used ruby chocolate and chocolate chips, about 1 cup all together

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Lightly grease 8x8 inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.

  3. Mix together flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch and salt and then add optional mix-ins (I used ruby chocolate and mini chocolate chips). Set aside.

  4. In a separate bowl, mix together sugar and melted butter for 3 minutes.

  5. Add eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract and vinegar. Mix until smooth.

  6. Gradually add and gently fold in the flour mixture until there are no traces of flour.

  7. Transfer batter to a baking pan and spread evenly.

  8. Bake for 35 minutes.

  9. Remove from oven and let brownies rest for about 20 minutes. Enjoy!
